What is Cognitive Behavior Therapy?
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective forms of psychotherapy today. It focuses on helping people learn how their thoughts (cognitions) color and can actually impact their behaviors. CBT looks at challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. It looks at core beliefs and is designed to help build effective strategies and change how one interacts and relates to others in the world. CBT assumes that changing maladaptive thinking leads to a change in behavior.
