I’m Here to Help!
Life can bring pain and suffering but also joy and contentment. We will work together to lessen the suffering and cultivate joy and peace of mind through understanding, practical problem solving, and skill-building.
Let’s explore awareness of old patterns together. I bring warmth, compassion, empathy, and honesty without judgement to the therapeutic relationship so you can gain insight into thoughts and behaviors you are struggling with.
Licensed and Experienced Therapy
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and teens. Those struggling with life transitions such as coming of age, searching for identity and aging often find their way to me. I work with those contemplating marriage, I enjoy marriage/couples counseling, and parenting in all phases. I also have experience working with serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar and others.
I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, isolation, grief and loss, personality issues such as borderline personality disorder. I also work with individuals struggling with their relationship with food, which can result in emotional eating patterns or disorders.
“I was afraid to call at first, but I am so glad that I did. The DBT work I did with Debra changed my life! I learned skills in the group that were literally life changing! Thank you, so much!”
DBT, CBT and Interpersonal Therapy
I specialize in helping people break destructive patterns of coping through the use of practical, evidenced-based therapy, by teaching coping skills and your personal process. I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic approaches.
I am empathic but I am real. I am not the type of therapist to silently nod or sugarcoat difficult issues that may come up in a therapeutic relationship. I will ask you to look at your life and the choices with honesty. You can be the architect of your own life but building that life on a firm foundation of authenticity and personal responsibility is key.
